Chat con Celine

Celine_Dion_Live says: I really think it's a wonderful opportunity to have today to be able to talk to you all. I have had the priviladge to sing for them, but today I have the privilage of talking to you also! It would be great to do this more often. Thanks for all the fans
Celine_Dion_Live says: for chatting for me today!

Celine_Dion_Live says: So far, so good! We traveled yesterday from Paris to New York and got to the hotel around 2am. Which is very different now because we're traveling with a baby. I'm very proud of him because he's a trooper. When you have an 8 hour trip, you can't wait to breathe some nice air. The hotel was great they had toys and a crib all ready for him. Today was a great day, we've been unpacking the suitcase, and I'm not sure what I'm doing tomorrow and don't want to know so I can make the best of today

luvceline1 in Onstage_1 asks: Will Rene Charles learn both French and English at the same time?
Celine_Dion_Live says: Rene and I speak only French to Rene Charles, but we also have a house in Florida and the people that work at the house in Florida speak English and Spanish. His first language will be French, but he'll also learn Spanish and English. Our pediatrician told us that until they are 3 years old their brains are like magic and can learn up to three or four languages. We already have him registered for school, it's an English school but they also speak French.

Walton_RM in Onstage_1 asks: Celine, my first nephew was born a week before your son and he changed our family life. How has your life changed since Rene Charles was born?
Celine_Dion_Live says: Oh it changed my life and my husband's life. I can never sing the same way. This little miracle makes me realize why I'm here. He makes me so tall. Once you're a parent it makes you so important, I make a difference in my son's life. I'm there for his
Celine_Dion_Live says: first step, cry, laugh. It's the most difficult and rewarding job and I'm so proud to be a mom!

Ali_Fay in Onstage_1 asks: Bonjour, Celine! As a fellow Canadian, I was wondering how you feel about moving to Las Vegas when you grew up in a much smaller closer knit town?
Celine_Dion_Live says: If I think about it this way, it's difficult, but mainly I want to think about this thing the other way, I'll be able to give to my fans a show I've never been able to give my fans before. Every song will become a magical experience, because it's impossible to travel with a show like this, I had to pick a base and Las Vegas was able to give me that base. I wanted to give my fans something unique and also traveling with the baby, it's not the main reason, but it's a big one. The baby will be able to be home every day. I'll be able to sing and be a mother. I don't want to think about a little town like I grew up in, Vegas is so huge. I will be on stage and at home. I will not live in the craziness of the city. I will barbecue and be home and then the show on stage.

CelineAngel21 in Onstage_1 asks: Do you sing him a lot of your songs?
Celine_Dion_Live says: So far my son is having a hard time seeing me on television and crying a lot. He's a very emotional baby, I've been told I was the same way when I was little and I would cry when I heard sad songs. If I sing songs like that to him, he cries, but if I humm
Celine_Dion_Live says: (Celine sings) then he loves that!

DishDiva says:
Would you ever do a children's album?
Celine_Dion_Live says: I would love that. We are talking a lot about that and I would love to do a children's album.
Angelboy82 in Onstage_1 asks: CÚline, I listen to your songs everyday and your music get through to me, right into my heart and fill me with emotions. And I know that many people feel that way. Is that a part of your goal with your music and do you have any other goals?
Celine_Dion_Live says: I guess that's the reason why it's worth it to me, because of people saying these things to me. It makes a difference to people and I enter people's lives with my music and it makes it worth it to keep doing what I'm doing. My goals would be to become a
Celine_Dion_Live says: better singer. There's a lot, I want to have another baby, I don't want to plan my future too much.

DishDiva says:
We have so many questions about your Vegas shows. . .

Miss2Big in Onstage_1 asks: Hi CÚline, can you tell something about your Vegas show? Monique from the Netherlands
Celine_Dion_Live says: It's going to be starting in March 2003. It will be 5 nights a week, visually spectacular, 70 artists on stage, it will be like a video, every song. To put a lot of visuals into every song like I never did before. Like Cirque du Soleil.

Jolien106 in Onstage_1 asks: Jolien,Holland. What does the signal mean when you put your thumb and wisefinger together like an O when you perform A new day has come?
Celine_Dion_Live says: I don't remember doing that. I think it's because I go with my fingers when I sing. I make the signal to hush, and maybe I'm doing that? I don't know.
Celine_Dion_Live says: Maybe I'm doing stuff I don't even know I do myself. (laughs)

sirhc72nc in Onstage_1 asks: Do you ever plan to go into acting for movies etc?
Celine_Dion_Live says: I'd love that. I don't have any specific plans, but it's always been part of my future of what I'd like to do some day. I have had some offers in the past and if we get the right script, producers, and the timing is right, I'd love it!
Celine_Dion_Live says: I don't want to rush into doing acting just for acting. I want to make sure it's an incredible movie. And sometimes it's not a matter of first or second role, it's being surrounded by the best people and I want that.

iiris_79 in Onstage_1 asks: Greetings from Finland What is the most rewarding aspect of your life right now ?
Celine_Dion_Live says: I'm coming back to my son but he makes me feel so unbelievable. He's the most magical miracle thing, my son. In this business I've been surrounded by the best people my whole life and the key of success is being surrounded by the best people making sure you have everything you need and sing the best songs. My mother and Rene always took care of everything so I could just sing the best I could. The mother that I'm becoming every day is the most precious to me.

Dieter_Belgium in Onstage_1 asks: Which song on your new album has the most emotions attached to it for you and why? I adore you and your music! This morning I 'hushed' (we say so in Belgium for 'hurried') to the store to buy your new album & i love it !! Dieter (21) from Belgium
Celine_Dion_Live says: Thank you for purchasing the ablum and I'm glad you're not disappointed with it. This album I've had the most relaxing experience. I had met life for the first time, I had just had my baby, I was so relaxed and happy I didn't have to think about the vocal technique. It was like breathing air. To me, it's kind of my first album in my new life, I'm glad you're enjoying it. It's difficult for me to pick one song, if I think of "Nature Boy" which is such a classic and it became mine for a few minutes, there was a fabulous pianist and to sing it it was a great experience. Also "Have You Ever Been In Love" was wonderful. It's been a new vision a new experience, for you it can be a new experience for you. I have a little something for each song, I've chosen them because they mean something to me.

talkersome in Onstage_1 asks: Do you still work with David Foster on creating new songs and will he be working with you on your Vegas shows?
Celine_Dion_Live says: Yes, I have worked with David on the album. I have recorded about 27 songs and we've chosen 15 of them. I did work with him again on this album and of course I'm happy to work with him.I will continue to work with him because I love working with him.

Neofreak5 in Onstage_1 asks: Hi Celine are the fans from different country are very different?
Celine_Dion_Live says: I think people around the world are the same, they go through pain, joy, worries, dreams. They might have different ways of living, but emotional wise, people are all the same. They want to respect and be respected, be happy. I've performed everywhere around the world, almost, and they react differently. Like in Japan when I finish a song they won't be singing with me and when I'm completely done, they will applaud, in France, they will sing the song with me. They all go through the emotions in different ways, but in the end the result is the same.

DishDiva says: aleeysha says:
I listened to the song "Fly" over and over again when my baby died. Is the song about a child dying? You were my gift during that very difficult time and it helped me to heal. You are a blessing. Thank you.
Celine_Dion_Live says: Thank you and I'm glad I did that song because it helped me with my emotions. Everyone at one point will go through losing someone we love but we have to find that strength, and my way to find that strength was to sing that song and if that can help other
Celine_Dion_Live says: people, I'm very happy about that.

DishDiva says:
Celine, we have so many questions asking if you will come see them in their towns. . .
Celine_Dion_Live says: I would love to hit every town and sing a couple of songs. When we do interviews, it's wonderful to see the fans, people who laugh and dance with you, it's so wonderful to perform for them. I would love to meet all of them, it's incredible that we can meet some of them and it's just great!

anjoluv in Onstage_1 asks: Have you ever been "starstruck" when meeting a celebrity? Who?
Celine_Dion_Live says: A lot! (laughs) Every time I see someone like Madonna, Paul Newman, Barbra Streisand, Britney, when I see them backstage I think, "Man! Those blue eyes!" or "Oh my God, she's so tall!" You have to remember that we are fans too. When you see them in person after listening to their music, it's interesting. I like to see how they walk, talk, if they are prettier than on television.

WhiteTigress47 in Onstage_1 asks: Hi Celine. When you make the L.V. sign onstage, what does it stand for?
Celine_Dion_Live says: It's kind of a secret thing for my husband. I can't answer. I am like an open book but I can't tell that one. It's a positive, beautiful thing.
Celine_Dion_Live says: It doesn't mean Las Vegas. (laughs)

arives in Onstage_1 asks: Do you ever get nervous on stage?
Celine_Dion_Live says: I don't really think nervous, but anxious. I love to be there and love to see my fans and perform for them. I am from a big family so it's like being in front of my family in the living room.
freezer_904 in Onstage_1 asks: Are you nervous about getting back to perfoming live again after so much time off?
Celine_Dion_Live says: No. I can't wait actually. My voice is so relaxed and I don't feel like the athlete that is going for the high note of the Olympics. I'm looking forward to it.

DishDiva says:
GG says: How is your golf game doing?
Celine_Dion_Live says: It's bad. (laughs) Because I hadn't played for a while. I'm getting there, you gotta give me another 10 games and then I'll talk to you about my score.

flowersandferns in Onstage_1 asks: Would you like to see your Son be an entertainer when he grows up?
Celine_Dion_Live says: Anything he wants to do. I love him and I'm so proud of him. He takes a step forward and I'm on the floor, I love him so much. I just want him to be a good human being no matter what he does so we'll be there to encourage him whatever he wants to do.

DishDiva says:
Celine, does any particular song make you remember happy and unforgetable moments?
Celine_Dion_Live says: Of course we'll try and give him some tools to orientate himself into good things. Sometimes you do those things and they end up playing guitar, but if you play guitar, you play it well.
Celine_Dion_Live says: Pretty much all of them. We have good memories about songs that make it big, but also songs that didn't because they are part of my heart. All my songs mean something for me so there's songs that stand up more than others but it doesn't mean the ones in
Celine_Dion_Live says: the shadow mean any less for me.

Melissie19 in Onstage_1 asks: Are any songs about your son and/or husband?
Celine_Dion_Live says: Oh yeah! The songs are "Nature Boy," "A New Day Has Come," "Have You Ever Been in Love" you know what, most of them. (Laughs) I take my happiness from them, they are the two men in my life.

ShenaK1 in Onstage_1 asks: What is your secret for a happy marriage?
Celine_Dion_Live says: I think I take a day at a time and make the best of myself every day. You always have to think, yes you become a mother and that's your priority, but you can't forget you're a wife. I think women are very strong and given a lot of wonderful things but we have to be everything. We have to be good mothers, wives, lovers. It makes us who we are, we have to bring the best out of us in everything we do.

BrittLovesCelineLotz in Onstage_1 asks: Do you still believe frogs are lucky?
Celine_Dion_Live says: Oh yeah. I don't think I'm attached as much as I was before, but it was my lucky charm and it still is in a way. I don't change. I'm very loyal.

fašon in Onstage_1 asks: Back in the early 90s you lost your voice due to inflamed nodules. I know this has been a concern for years and was wondering if your break helped to heal your voice. Do you still do your exercises on a continual basis?
Celine_Dion_Live says: I do but I don't go as crazy technically as I used to. I don't pay as much attention to my voice as before. I had something to prove before.

ChristinaCeline in Onstage_1 asks: Hi, CÚline! I loved your VH1 Moments show that aired last week! How can I purchase CD's that you made when you were a young girl? Love Ya!
Celine_Dion_Live says: I don't know. They're probably still available in record stores, or you can ask them at the record store. Or maybe you can look for a compilation record, or ask a sales person. Ask them if they can order one for you.

andystm129 in Onstage_1 asks: Do you have a favorite venue?
Celine_Dion_Live says: I've performed in small places and stadiums. It's very rock and roll to perform in stadiums. Small theaters are very intimate. I don't feel like tomato soup every night and I don't feel like asparagus every night. All the same all the time is boring,

DishDiva says: jessy_br Celine, do you see a lot of similarities between you and RenÚ Charles?
Celine_Dion_Live says: you've got to have change.
Celine_Dion_Live says: More and more. (laughs)
Celine_Dion_Live says: Once you get to know a person for so many years, we resemble each other. I'm sure you notice that with other couples who have been together for so many years.
DishDiva says: Do you see a lot of resemblence between you and your son?
Celine_Dion_Live says: Sometimes I think he looks like me, sometimes I think he looks like my husband. Some people says he looks like me when I was young, others say he looks like Rene when he does certain stuff. I think it's both of us :)

celinefan77 in Onstage_1 asks: When do you plan to have your next baby?
Celine_Dion_Live says: We'd love to have more babies. Probably after Vegas if God wants us to. It doesn't mean we'll be as lucky as the first time, but after Vegas we'll try again.

DishDiva says: The pictures of Rene Charles are wonderful!!!!
Celine_Dion_Live says: In a way for the album I wanted to show the two years were just incredible and open my private picture album. At one point I didn't know if it was too intimate, but I always gave 100%, all of me all the time, and I said, you know what, let's do it!
Celine_Dion_Live says: I'm thankful they've been with me for so many years, I wanted to share this with them, and I hope they like it.

loveydov in Onstage_1 asks: how important is it for you you to maintain you roots as as Quebequois in a predominately English market and will maintin your career in French?
Celine_Dion_Live says: My roots for me are the most important to me because it's who I am. The first people that supported me were the people of Quebec and I'll always be thankful for that. I'm like a Maple Tree that grows and I'll always have a place there. My parents and 13 brothers and sisters. I know where I'm from and where I'm going and I'll always feel like I'm going back home. I enjoy traveling the world and I enjoy going home. We have a home in Florida that is becoming our home now also. But Quebec will always be home
Celine_Dion_Live says: French singing for me is my natural first thing. I wanted to learn English so I could sing in English and I'll continue learning Spanish to be able to do more in Spanish also.
rgmonster in Onstage_1 asks: What is your meaning of life?
Celine_Dion_Live says: That's a big question, let me think about that a little bit.
Celine_Dion_Live says: Life is something you can't take for granted. Sometimes you're around people that are bored and don't know what to do, time is so quick, time is lent to us and we have to make the best out of it. Whatever you believe, if there's life after this, you have to be good today to be good tomorrow. Life is a gift, and you have to make the best of it. A question like this takes thought. It's a beautiful question. I'm 34 and I don't have all the answers. I don't question life, you can't question it too much, you have to live it. I don't question life, I just make the best of me every day. It is so quick.

DishDiva says: Celine, thank you for joining your fans around the world this afternoon to answer questions about your newest release "A New Day Has Come."

kr_celiniac_for_life in Onstage_1 asks: Hi Celine! What is your fondest childhood memory? love always from Kirsty Reilly(Celiniac) in Northern Ireland
Celine_Dion_Live says: Music. And love. Growing up in this little house. I couldn't believe how little the house was, sleeping 3 or 4 people in one bed. Making fires outside, roasting marchmallows, singing folk music. Growing up with the cooking of my mother, I can still smell it.

DishDiva says: Do you have any special French dishes that you make?
Celine_Dion_Live says: I'm pretty good with leftovers. When I open the fridge and see this chicken I can make something with it. I take capers, onions, tomatoes, pine nuts, I try things, it's like performing.

ChoirChyk in Onstage_1 asks: Hey Celine! I have a question. After leaving in the 90's is it different now to be singing in the 2002 era of music?
Celine_Dion_Live says: The music industry changed a lot. Which the record company is very concerned about, I still wanted to do the same kind of style of music but I also wanted to try modern things on the album which I did. You have to do what's from your heart and although
Celine_Dion_Live says: it's changed, I'm still singing the ballads and up tempo that I have in the past. Music wise for me hasn't changed, but the music industry changed on how they get records out.

erika17_17 in Onstage_1 asks: What do you hope people feel about this new album?
Celine_Dion_Live says: I don't expect anything actually. I never did in the past. I don't want to start expecting things and be disappointed. I hope people feel something in the music. I think these days people are going toward marriage, having children, being polite, I think there's a bigger place for love songs then ever before.

COOKIELIS in Onstage_1 asks: Hello Celine, I was wondering what you were doing for your birthday coming up? (Lisa, 20, Montreal) I LOVE YOU
Celine_Dion_Live says: (laughs) I don't have any plans. I will be 34 years old. It never was important. When I'm around a lot of people a lot of time. When you have a birthday and you're just with your family, husband and baby, that's all I want. If I'm in a hotel, we'll order room service and watch TV. When you're on the road all the time you don't want to plan a party. I mostly feel like no makeup, no dressing up.

nanjersey in Onstage_1 asks: How much would you say came to you as divine help and how much was your own actions?
Thank you! Our guest has received your question and will make every effort to answer it. However, due to the large number of questions submitted, not all questions can be answered.
Celine_Dion_Live says: I'm Catholic, I don't practice. I probably went to the church on different occations. For baptisms, weddings, losing people, from being from a big family you get to go to the church a lot. I count on God when you're thankful, happy, afraid to lose someone
Celine_Dion_Live says: I often give a thought to the person above and give thanks and ask for protection for the people I love. But I do practice in my own way. It's difficult for me to say what percentage. I wouldn't say on a daily basis, but very often.

DishDiva says: Celine, from all of your fans around the world, Happy Birthday!
Celine_Dion_Live says: Thank you! Thanks a lot for the birthday wishes. It was a great opportunity to speak to my fans around the world. I rarely get a chance to speak to you directly so this was fun. I wish I could have answered all of the questions. Maybe we can answer more next time. So wherever you are this very minute in front of your screens, I hope you enjoy the album and thank you for the support over the years. I wish you the best of health. Thank you bye bye.

[Grazie a Valentina]
