:: Celine’s concert in Kuala Lumpur deferred to April 13 ::
(9:00 p.m. GMT) Canadian superstar Celine Dion has postponed her Taking Chances World Tour – Live in Kuala Lumpur to April 13 from April 8 as she is

“The specialist advised that after a further 48 hours of treatment and rest, Dion will make a complete recovery and can resume performing at her best,” the statement added.
“I’ve been looking forward to doing these shows for so long. I am really sorry to disappoint my fans this weekend, but I can’t wait to see them on the new dates,” Dion said yesterday.
Dion's concert will be held at Stadium Merdeka on April 13 at 8pm. All tickets purchased for the original date are valid for the same seats on the new performance date without any need for exchange.

:: Celine to celebrate 40th in Australia ::
(4:00 p.m. GMT) Celine Dion will celebrate her 40th birthday in Sydney this weekend with an intimate gathering of family and friends including her husband Rene Angelil and
seven-year-old son Rene-Charles. Dion, who is scheduled to perform in Sydney on Friday and Saturday nights, is hoping for a low-key birthday celebration in the midst of her Australian tour.
"It's her birthday on Sunday, the day after her second Sydney show," a source involved in Dion's Australian visit says. "That's one of the reasons why her husband and son are coming out here with her, so
they can be here together on the day."
Dion and her family flew into Australia for a relaxing holiday break ahead of her concerts. The megastar Canadian performer travelled to Australia with a small-ish entourage (in other words, she is a diva on
stage, but not in real life) although she has hired an array of touring staff and production managers for her big-budget show. Dion spent five years in Las Vegas performing her one-woman extravaganza
(which grossed more than $430 million), so it has been a long time between concerts for Australian fans.
Like her or loathe her, Dion is the biggest-selling female artist of all time, and fans from across Australia and parts of Asia will travel to Sydney to see her performances.
It is 12 years since the singer last toured here. Of course, the Dion experience doesn't come cheap - premium tickets for her show cost up to $399 each, although there were a number of seats available at
$99 (despite strong demand initially, Dion's shows are yet to sell out, with tickets available for each performance in Sydney).
The singer's first show is in Brisbane on Wednesday night. She will travel to Sydney later in the week for her two planned concerts before enjoying private birthday festivities on Sunday.

:: Celine Dion compensates dancers with diamond gifts ::
(4:00 p.m. GMT) SHE is known worldwide as the down-to-earth diva with a bank account that would make King Solomon blush.
Now visiting superstar Celine Dion is also proving to be the queen of generosity, according to one of the dancers performing in her Taking Chances world tour.
Celine and her entourage arrived in Brisbane over the weekend in preparation for her first Australian show – at the Entertainment Centre on Wednesday night – and touched down after a gruelling
17-show run throughout South Africa, Dubai, China and Korea.
Though normally accustomed to five-star accommodation, a promoter error saw the show's dancers put up in some less-than-stellar lodgings on a handful of occasions leading up to their arrival in Brisbane.
To make it up to her devoted staff, Celine handed them all a small parcel recently to thank them for their patience. And what was inside? Each dancer opened a box to find a large, gleaming two-carat
diamond. "It's huge. I've got no idea what to do with mine," one dancer told Qconfidential.
"But it's beautiful. She is so lovely to work for. All the dancers love her, she's amazing."
And the gift has a pretty amazing price tag. A jewellery expert tells us a diamond of that quality could fetch anything from $10,000 to $200,000. Not that it would make much of a dent in Celine's earnings.
The French-Canadian songbird, who holds world records in album and ticket sales, raked in just over $400 million from the five-year run of her A New Day show in Las Vegas.

Dion Gives Powerful Performance
(8:00 p.m. GMT) As a part of her year-long ``Taking Chances World Tour,'' Canadian superstar Celine Dion, rocked the stage of Seoul's Gymnastics Stadium at the Olympic
Park on Tuesday and Wednesday night for the first time since 1997. The eager audience burst into applause and cheers as she opened the night with a powerful performance of ``I Drove All Night.''
Familiars, such as ``It's All Coming Back to Me Now,'' ``Because You Loved Me'' and ``The Power of Love'' followed, as well as the song ``Taking Chances'' from her new
album with the same name.
While taking her first breather from the set, Dion stated, ``I'm so happy to be here, it's been over 10 years since we were here last time. It's been too long…for this tour, there were so many countries
we wanted to go to… I wanted to do things right (for this tour), and I wanted to make sure that I came to Seoul to perform for you.''
There were a total of four sets, with each one introduced by agile and colorful dancers wearing outfits matching each theme. Dion showed off an amazing repertoire of 24 rock, pop and soul songs,
singing with powerful yet controlled tones, and hitting the high notes with . All eyes were on Dion, as she single handedly captivated the audience for two hours with her
demanding presence and energetic movements.
In between songs, Dion impressed the crowd with her Korean, bringing cheers for every ``gamsa-hamnida'' (thank you) and an extra loud one for ``gibun-joayo'' (I feel good).
Never failing to amaze, Dion performed two encores in response to the overwhelming applause with ``River Deep, Mountain High'' and ``My Heart Will Go On'' ? her voice resonating
through the sea of people as she emerged wearing a flowing yellow gown for her finale.
As the show wound down, Dion remarked ``You are a wonderful audience'' to the throng of fans after minutes of a standing ovation. She then hushed the crowd after thanking the audience,
and her supporting crew, by sharing an emotional story of one of her dancers. Dion introduced Addie Yungmee George, an accomplished dancer and South Korean adoptee who left Korea when she was
only two. George ? who has toured with the likes of Cher and Madonna, and danced for Hollywood blockbuster movies ? was moved to tears as the crowd welcomed her back to Seoul, her birthplace,
for the very first time since she left 32 years ago.
After a gracious thank you to the crowd and Dion, the spotlight moved back to the superstar as she gave a final deep bow and waved goodbye for the night. The next leg of Celine Dion's tour
takes her ``Down Under'' to New Zealand and Australia. The rigorous ``Taking Chances World Tour'' will travel to more than 100 cities in 25 countries for an impressive 120 shows.

Funkier, rockier Celine Dion wows sold-out Tokyo Dome
(8:00 p.m. GMT) Between her sabbatical, pregnancy and an extended residency at a Las Vegas casino, it's been years since Celine Dion has gone out on tour. The last time the Canadian
songstress hit these shores was nearly a decade ago. For two nights, Dion played to a sold-out crowd at the Tokyo Dome, with attendance displaying just how high the expectations were among
Japanese audiences, who had not seen her since 1999.
She opened her set with the rocker, "I Drove All Night," warming up the crowd with her impressive vocal range. Dion is not an artist who won her enormous success by writing hit songs or
playing an instrument. No, she rose to where she now stands through the power of her brilliant singing. In her voice, one can hear nuances of emotional expression, a skill that has become her
greatest asset when performing ballads that evoke refreshing drama. However, these performances seemed to signal a departure from this.
With a certain rockiness, a booming low-end funk sound and blueslike expression in her singing, the audience was introduced to a side of Dion that they had never seen before.
When she sings rock, she is head-and-shoulders above your typical rock singer, beautifully digesting the vibrant musical style and adding a bit of her soul, lending a potent competence to her songs.
Without argument, her lyrically rich hits such as "The Power of Love" were well placed, thrilling the crowds, but particularly noticeable was the overall energy she directed outwardly.
On her previous visits to Japan, Dion delivered comparably lackluster performances. The recent Tokyo Dome concerts were much more entertaining visually, as conceptual images and closeups of back-up
dancers were projected on large moveable video screens.
It is a display of incredible will for Dion to show a new side of herself on her first world tour in nine years. It is probably because she knows that she possesses an ability that affords her the luxury to be
adventurous with any kind of song.

Korean Adoptee Returns in Triumph -- With Celine Dion
(7:00 a.m. GMT) After finishing her first-day performance at the Olympic Gymnastics Gymnasium in Seoul on Tuesday evening, super diva Celine Dion brought the leader of her eight backup
dancers, with whom she is traveling for her "Taking Chances World Tour 2008," center stage. It was an Asian woman. When her face appeared on the big monitor screens, she was all smiles and
said hello to the audience.
Then she burst into tears. It was her first visit to Korea since she had been adopted by her American family 32 years ago. Her name is Addie Yungmee George. Some 8,000 audience
members were visibly moved. George was adopted by her American family at the age of two. She is now a top-notch dancer in the U.S., working as a backup dancer for superstars like Madonna, Leonnie
Kravitz and Pink and accompanying them on their world tours.
She also appeared in films including "Memories Of A Geisha" and "Collateral." Since November last year, she has been traveling with Celine Dion and her troupe on the diva's world tour.
"It was the best moment in my life. The world's best singer introduced me to the audience," George is crying again -- of joy as well as of sadness over her childhood. But she smiles finally when
she says, "I'd never cried onstage before. Dancers cry only when they make a mess of a performance by tripping over or making a wrong move."

:: Diva’s vocals rocked 12, 000 fans at Four Seasons Dubai ::
(7:55 p.m. GMT) Celine Dion's Live in Dubai concert was an exceptional success, exceeding all expectations. The concert which Dubai had been anticipating since November 2007, had
all 12, 000 fans singing along with great enthusiasm. Celine emerged in a Kaftan, looking as glamorous as ever. The Diva warmed up the crowd with all time hits ‘I drove all night' and ‘The Power of Love'.
Before launching into her latest hit ‘Taking Chances', the Canadian artist spoke about her 3 day experience in Dubai referring to the city as a "a beautiful place, where the action is, the city of the future".
Celine told fans that when she decided to go a world tour she knew it would not be without stopping in Dubai. Celine ended her speech shouting "shukran" (thanks) out to all her Arab fans,
who were ecstatic to hear the diva speak in their native language. Celine covered classic hits by legends Queen and James Brown.
Royalty and celebrities adorned the VIP lounge in their haute-couture. Princess Haya was spotted with an entourage of girlfriends, while Roger Federer, visiting Dubai for the Dubai Tennis Championship,
chose to keep his presence more low key, staying out of the spot light and focusing on Celine Dion's vocals.

:: Celine Dion: Taking Chances tour to heights ::
(6:20 a.m. GMT) Dubai’s newest concert venue, Four Season’s Golf Club, saw its biggest action so far when 12,000 fans swayed and mouthed the words to the songs of Canadian pop diva
Celine Dion during her first-ever Middle East performance last night. On a three-day trip to Dubai with her mother, son, sisters and husband, Dion was in town to perform the second leg of her
Taking Chances world tour. She proved to be incredibly popular with Dubai music lovers. Looking ravishing in leather shrug, sequined silver top and black tights, Dion made a dramatic
entry at 8.40pm, coming down from a platform lowered onto the stage.
Opening with I Drove All Night, The Power of Love and Taking Chances, she amply displayed her vocal prowess, high-octane performance and stage presence as a seasoned artist.
"I’ve been in Dubai for three days and now I know what people all over the world are talking about. Dubai’s the place to be. It’s the future city," Dion said.
The thunderous response to her rendition of the Academy Award-winning My Heart Will Go On put to rest any questions about her being the biggest-selling female artist of all time with 175 million
records sold globally.
Dion showed no signs of weariness that could afflict a singer who has just finished a contract with a Vegas hotel that required her to perform every day of the week for five years in a row.
She sang tributes to Queen’s lead singer Freddie Mercury with the hits The Show Must Go On and We Will Rock You. The grand 32,000sqm greens was packed with an audience who didn’t seem to
mind going to a gig on a weekday. The show was choreographed and directed by Jamie King, who has worked with the likes of Madonna and Ricky Martin.

:: Celine Dion finally in Dubai ::
(7:30 p.m GMT) Celine Dion, pretty in pink, has arrived in Dubai. Visiting Dubai with her family as part of her ‘Taking Chances’ World tour, Celine has a lot on her shoulders.
Despite her busy schedule, the Canadian superstar is thrilled to be in Dubai and plans to make the most out of her short stay. So far, Celine has been meeting and greeting media in the UAE. She has been
enjoying the amazing view from her hotel and cannot wait to head out into the town.
Clearly happy to be in the UAE, she said: "We are ready to see Dubai. All of us have heard such wonderful things about the city and when we landed it was dark and quite foggy. My son tried
desperately to search for the hotel in the middle of the ocean and I told him that mother nature had asked us to wait until tomorrow! We do plan to see the sights during our three-day stay and wish we
could stay longer."
Rene, Celine’s husband, who is originally from the Middle East is visiting the region for the first time himself. Celine and Rene Charles, their 7 year old son, have been anticipating their visit to Dubai
for the past nine months, wanting to savour every moment spent in Rene’s mother land. Celine, in an open and candid conversation, told the media that she loves cooking and she would especially love to
learn more Middle Eastern cuisine for her family.
She plans to take cooking more seriously now that Rene Charles is older and can enjoy “mama’s cooking”. One of 8 daughters, Celine laughs about her sisters loving her because she shares
her on-stage wardrobe with them. When asked about the likes of Amy Winehouse and Britney she said: "I don't really feel I can comment on their lives but I can say that these artists make me realise how
fortunate I am. I have the essentials - the family, the grounding, the right support network and an attitude which allows me to take criticism. In this industry it's too easy to believe talent is enough -
because it's not. My family is my true inspiration because they are the only people who matter."
When asked what to expect from her concert, Celine’s response was fun, excitement and new dance performances post her Vegas Event. Celine Dion is looking forward
to enchant the Middle Eastern crowd with her spectacular performance after the tour’s success in South Africa last week. Concert goers have a beautiful venue, Four Seasons Golf Club in Dubai Festival
City, to look forward to.
