My name is Mahyar, I’m 21 years old Iranian boy and I'm studing Business Administration.
I’m a huge fan of Céline since ‘Beauty And
The Beast’. I don’t know what do you think about Iran and what is your ideas but I would
just say it’s not like most of the world think it is,
specially ‘Iranian People’ themselves … I can totally understand what Oshra said we all
experienced 8 years imposed war with Iraq and
I can feel exactly what she feels now coz we went through those days too, I mean trying to live your
routine life under the scare of death.
People here are completely different, they follow all the upcoming things in the world
specially whatever comes out in the U.S. such
as music, new artists, movies, fashion, … if I send you some pics from Iranian teenagers you’ll
know it better …
I’ve met a lot of Celine’s fans
here, I know it may be hard to believe but Céline’s really popular here, specially
after ‘My Heart Will Go On’ … but
unfortunately because of the condition of those who rules Iran, world thinks that we are
terrorist or something like that … I hate politic
because of these things, I believe we could all be great friends specially those who are
Celine’s fans I believe we all think the same.
Now I wanna say my own rough reality … I’ve been a fan for almost a decade but for the case
that I’m Iranian I can’t join Teamceline or I
can’t have the chance to see her Vegas show (my biggest dream) or even see her once, these
things may seem so normal to all of you coz
whenever you want you can go there and see her… I think you understand what I’m saying it’s
really hard for a true fan to be this much far,
if I didn't have internet and if I didn't visit Céline fan sites like this there’s no other
way for me to be in touch
with her. Just a little sign of Celine here is like a big gift to me like few days ago I was
passing by a bookshop, I saw Celine’s Bio ‘My Story,
My Dream’ behind the window, they have been translated it into Persian, you can imagine
what happened to me and how much I shocked!!!
I also got some Persian newspapers wrote articles about Celine. Anyway to make such a long
story short I wish one day she could
understand that ‘There was a boy, a very strange boy … who just wanted to say his own dreams
to Celine, who knows, maybe I can
manage to meet her in person one day.
Anyway about Celine I think Oshra is right, Celine has influence on all of her fans,
her voice is like water on fire this is why I never felt like
I’m so far from her. Among all the fans that I‘ve met I found one thing, that mostly those who
get attracted to her are very special az a very
good example we’ve got Oshra here … I wish peace for you and all your people.
God bless you all & Good luck!
Love,
Mahyar
[Thank you, Mahyar! God Bless you too and all Iranian people!]
It’s true that in my small country there isn’t much peace, but here life isn’t as bad as they seem
on TV news.
Although once in a while we suffer from terrorist’s acts, we’re under a threat of war everyday but
living normally like everybody else.
I know it’s a terrible thing to say, but those terrorist acts became a part of our life, and in a way, a
part of our routine. When one of those horrible acts happen, we all sit in front of T.V, praying for
those who got hurt or injured and making calls to everyone we know that may be out there.
But next day, we still return to our daily lives. We go to work and to school, take buses,
and go to malls. The only thing different is that we are more careful and alert to our surroundings.
The war in Iraq affected us too. For a while, we all had been afraid for its influence on us. That’s
the reason we went with our gas masks everywhere, and sealed our rooms in the first week it was
announced. After a week we again returned to our routine, but still listen carefully to the news ready to
sealed our rooms.
Although those things sound pretty scary for someone who doesn’t live here, or been here, I got to say,
Yes! It gets pretty scary sometimes, and I can’t say that they weren’t times I was afraid,
I’m afraid everyday and worried every minute but I live my life normally and go wherever I want whenever I
want. We have to live!
I wish now to tell you my life here as an Israelian fan of Céline. Céline has a big influence on me
and on my choices. She’s also like a drug in both meanings. She cures me in every way.
Unfortunately, there aren’t many people like me here, I think it’s because they don’t bother to
understand it and to fill it, I’m sure that everyone here knows who she is. I believe most people
knew her after “My heart will go on” hit.
Every show or interview with her is an occasion here, because it doesn’t happen very often.
That’s the reason you can’t imagine how happy I was when she was suddenly on every newspaper when
she started her shows in Vegas.
Even though she is not too appreciated, she still succeeds to conquer the first places on the radio
charts, and she is very popular. Her "I Drove All Night" is doing very well!!
Other famous songs of Céline here are: A New Day Has Come, I'm Alive, The Power of Love,
Because You Loved Me (People plays them a lot on weddings) and It's all coming back to me now (which is how I got to
know her...).
I had even a French examine on Céline at my school.
There is also an Israelian forum dedicated to Céline on an Israelian site called “Tapuz”, where other
Israelian fans, like me, being update everyday in this way we can share our passion for Céline.
Dear friends, that's all!
I'm going to join the army (It's an obligation here after all...)
GOD BLESS YOU OSHRA, WE ARE VERY CLOSE TO ALL ISRAELIAN FANS!
